Make it YOU: playing with customization with eShakti

After you guys gave so much love to my eShakti Denim Dress, the team reached out to ask if I wanted to show what customization can really do, and flex some customization muscles by playing around with the endless options available on eShakti clothing. Ummm… HELL YES.

So, if you can believe it – all three of these are the SAME DRESS, just with different options selected.

Each of them were custom made to my size – which is really living the dream. Getting the perfect bust to waist to hips ratio guarantees a great fit – but it’s so much more than that – the level of detail really sets you up for perfection.

If you are like me and have a ‘problem area’ when it comes to the fit of clothing, whether you’re particularly busty, have booty for days, or like me have larger arms – all those measurements are included in the custom size option to give you peace of mind of the fit.

Style 1: The Original

I ordered this dress exactly as it appears on the eShakti website. There are so many great styles – you don’t have to change a thing. The midi-length, the boat neckline and the elbow sleeve mean that it’s perfect for the office, and is a key trans-seasonal piece.

Given it’s retro feel, I’ve turned its belt around to the front for a cute 50’s vibe.

Style 2: Winter Work

I love wearing boots with dresses in winter, so the first change I made to this dress was to raise the hemline. As a winter dress, I then chose to have the longest sleeve option available – 3/4 sleeves. to balance out the dress, I knew I wanted a lower neckline – and I finally settled on the Sweetheart.

I’ve paired it with on-trend dark accessories for an up-to-date winter look. Embroidered bag is New Look; Choker is from MaryLee. Gloves and Boots are previous seasons.

Paired with Tan, this dress is so light and summery. I removed the Bow Belt that came this this dress to bring in a few more tan-tones.

These heels are my absolute favorite from Frankie4. Not just because they look amazing- but they are seriously seriously ridiculously comfortable. Check out the NiKKi in Tan here.
My necklace is local for one of my favorite handmaidens: All That Glitters.

Top Tips when ordering EShakti

  1. Pay attention to the fabric. EShakti give you all the information you need to make an informed purchase. If you hate ironing (like I do), you should probably stay away from a stretch cotton poplin dresses with box pleats. Now that I have three (lovely) dresses that require ironing, I’ve learned my lesson!
  2. If you’re unsure what a dress will look like with different options, trace over your screen gently with a piece of paper, photocopy, then trace out the different modification. It’s like an adult version of ‘paper fashion dolls’ where you actually get to create and wear an outfit for yourself at the end!
  3. Get someone else to measure for you – as you bend and stretch to see the measurement, it won’t be as accurate.
  4. Write down all the measurements and store them in your phone – it’s a GREAT reference for online shopping!
