Anyone that’s been reading this blog for a while will know the soft spot I harbor for UK fashion. I have such beautiful memories of wandering along Oxford street at Christmas time, with all the lights, and beautiful shops. The reality was that it was face-numbingly cold, and I spent a lot of my time rugging up or stripping off layers of clothes in between shops… But the fantasy is better than the reality… Until now.
I recently reconnected with Boden – a UK label focused on timeless, stylish, ethical, quality clothing – and they’ve launched an Australian website! As fond as my memories of twinkling Christmas lights and London mall shopping is… Nothing beats shopping online in your PJs on the couch.
Boden is on-trend, quality clothing in classic cuts. It’s the kind of place where you can find a favourite tee – and have it in loads of colours and patterns – it’s the stuff that lasts season after season – and it’s all available in sizes 6-22!
I was looking to add two transeasonal pieces to my collection to complete my Autumn wardrobe – some White Jeans and an A-line Skirt.
White jeans are so tricky – but Boden’s Girlfriend Cut white jeans are the goldilocks of white jeans – not to skinny, not to baggy – just right. Revealing my shape, without revealing my underwear. Paired with a blazer and blouse for a casual office look – or with a slouchy tee for a relaxed weekend outfit – equal parts comfortable and chic. The Girlfriend Jeans are available in petite, regular or long length – in sizes 6-22.
I must admit – I’m a tights girl. Partly because I hate being cold. Partly because I just can’t be bothered shaving my legs in winter. So while my legs may be transitioning into full Yeti mode – I love that I can still rock a winter skirt with some opaque tights and no one is any wiser. Except if they are reading this. Oh well. The (hairy) cat is out of the bag I guess. A cute A-line skirt with a tee tucked in is uber UK chic and I love this pairing to take me into the cooler months.
Tip: order the skirt in ‘Tall’ length to steal a few extra cms if you’re not a mini-skirt-gal.
