Spring workwear 101

Hello warmer weather! I’ve been looking forward to seeing you again for quite some time.

I don’t wear a uniform at work – and given that it’s about 8 hours of uninterrupted baby-free time – it’s a great opportunity to get some wear out of my fancier clothes – no sticky fingers, no one pulling at my neckline, and no need to be dashing off every few minutes after a boisterous one year old. Outfit heaven!

Since my days at work are my opportunity to pull together outfits that are less practical and more ‘me’ I thought I’d share some of my favourite work outfits for Spring.

If I’m honest, I used to detest 7/8 leg pants. Until I realized they were perfect for showcasing a statement heel. Now I embrace them with open arms and relish the opportunity to set up a little stage for a great pair of shoes.

Wearing white? These days it’s only a work-situation where I can get away with it. Partly because toddler and partly because I’m a bit of a grub myself. But surprisingly, I find it quite easy to keep this white blazer clean at work. I do take it off at lunchtime though. There’s no need to tempt fate.

I love wearing polka dots – they are a fun way to add a little personality to my work style. The square neckline of this Bird Keeper dress from birdsnest really balances out my hips… And I added a metallic belt for a little sparkle!

The staple, easy, classic dress. This classy number is reserved for those days when I need a chic solution but don’t have a lot of brain power. Whether it be sleep deprivation, or overstimulation from a mini-wiggles marathon – some days you just need a no-brainer slam-dunk in the styling department – and for me, this dress is that.
