There are so many ways to go with this month’s challenge PIN from Not Dressed As Lamb.
You would think, being that I choose the challenge image, that I do so with some semblance of a SPIN in mind. That sounds like a sensible way to approach running a challenge. In future, I should try and remember that because in reality, I pick a PIN that excites me, and when it comes to pulling an a outfit together, I stand in my wardrobe and wing it.
I still find print clash kind of intimidating. I’m always concerned that in my mirror, I think I look chic, and out on the street I’ll look crazy-cat-lady. Throwing cat-lady-caution to the wind, I’ve gone for a triple print clash, inspired by the brilliant triple clash pulled off in such a sophisticated way by Catherine Summers. My beginners guide for pattern clashing is here.
SPIN the PIN is not about recreating an outfit – it’s all about taking inspiration and stamping it with your own style. This is my urban/street take on the challenge PIN, and I gotta say, there’s a vibe about this outfit which reminds me of a young 21 year old me – out clubbing with my friends. Carefree. Dancing the night away. Listening to r’n’b. Obvs.
So, you *may* have noticed the my hair. I miss my long hair, and have been aiming to grow it back for the last two years. It’s just slow. Very very slow. In the mean time I’ve got myself this killer set of Zala Hair Extensions. Amazing. I’ll do a full post later… But again, the hair reminds me of my younger self.
