On Friday I headed into the Ivy in Sydney to meet the team at Pretty Girl Fashion – who manage brands like Rockmans, Table Eight, BeMe and W Lane. Sipping on Champagne and speaking to the fabulous team, I got to preview what’s in store for the next few months in stores.
When monochrome is dominating the retail stores, the labels under the banner of Pretty Girl Fashion know their customers love colour. Across each of the lines, there were beautiful jewel tones, pretty pastels and amazing prints. It was so refreshing, and something that’s going to set these brand apart in winter and for the foreseeable future. When I’m craving a dose of colour, I know where I’m heading.
There’s always been Rockmans stores close by, but until recently, if I’m really honest – it was a store that I’d walk right past. But then something changed. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but I sure have – Rockmans have undergone a serious style makeover! It was a strategic decision by Rockmans to introduce some more youthful styles, inject some colour and pick up on the details of the latest trends. Their rep explained that many of their stores are in more regional areas where choices for the customer are more limited – so Rockmans aims to provide on-trend casual clothing to all ages and styles… and I was very impressed with what I saw!
Here’s my favourite pieces:
Amber Rose at Rockmans
The accessories at Rockmans… well… they rock! I randomly found the Amber Rose range in store a few months ago, and it’s a little style secret of mine – the pieces are fab.
Amber Rose is available in store at Rockmans and via the Rockmans website.
Now this was a brand I was less familiar with, but I was equally impressed. At a slightly higher price point, W Lane aims to provide stylish, easy to wear pieces that can be work across the office, evening and weekend. While aimed at a slightly older woman, I found myself drawn to many of their prices because of their attention to detail and trims. It’s the little touches that count, velvet edging in cuff – and those polka dots are embroidered instead of printed. High quality finishing details that really add some class and quality – colour me impressed! I LOVED that most of their fabrics were crush-proof, or at least crush resistant. If I was heading off on a trip and wanted to look super stylish – I could definitely pull together an easy capsule collection from here!
W Lane is available in stores and online. Sizes 8 – 20.
Ok, a round of applause is required for Be Me who have undergone a major makeover. The rack had key trend pieces, plenty of colour, and, as their brand rep Shadi explained, a real focus on the cut of their collection. Catering to a range of ages, I was able to find several pieces I would add to my collection in a heart beat! That oxblood knit has a half chiffon back detail which was to die for – and theleathette starpatches on the cream knit (also with chiffon layered effect at the bottom) – so cute!
Be Me is available online, in Be Me Stores, and in selected Rockmans Stores. Plus sizes 14-26.
Amazing photoreal floral prints, injections of bright colour and beautifully cut dresses – Table Eight is a Spring Racing saviour and I’ll certainly be heading in store to put together a real head-turning look for a day at the races this year. Great cuts and colours, the Table Eight collection really impressed. Although at a slightly higher price point than the Rockmans range – if you need a dress that’s just that little bit special – I’d head into your local Rockmans to check out what Table Eight have on offer. Their dresses range from $129 – $199 with beautiful skirts, tops and trousers available too.
Table Eight is available in Rockmans stores and online via the Rockmans website. Sizes 8 – 18.
What I wore
So once I saw how truly miserable it was outside, I had to switch to a larger bag to accommodate my little umbrella, but apart from that, here’s the details of what I wore.
