Aussie Curves Challenge Theme – Skirt. Hmmmm, Day 3 of Shop What You Got, and I’ve hit a snag. There’s no skirt in my 30 item list. So I’ve gotten a bit creative with a maxi dress.
This Spring/Summer is all about the front-tuck – and without it, this outfit looks super frumpy. I’ve done a bit of temporary tailoring with some tiny safety pins. So many clothing tags come on these little pins – I always save them for temporary tailoring and emergency mending (who am I kidding… Permanent mending). To get it to sit nicely, I’ve gone for two safety pins across the front and I’ve pinned it to the underside of the overlapped section of the waistband, and I’ve used two pins. The white top is a knit and I didn’t want to cause and pulls or straining on the fabric by only using one in the centre.
Throwing the old school fashion rules out the window, I’m pairing this green maxi ‘skirt’ with blue accessories. I’m loving blues and greens for this season.
I got this awesome colour blocked clutch from David Jones, on final sale for just $17! I find a bargain always makes something that little bit sweeter.
Both the top and the maxi dress are items from my Shop What You Got Challenge list – I’ve created a capsule wardrobe of just 30 items and all my outfits for the month of November will be made up by mixing and matching those items. Read more about the challenge here and see my 30 items here.
