What’s the inside goss?
Crossroads is all about comfortable and affordable fashion, and this will continue to be the focus for the future.
The range is available from a size 8-22, but every now and then a piece is available up to a size 26, so I asked the marketing team a little more information on this…
Are there plans to expand the sizing range permanently up to a 26?
It’s still something we are trialling, and we will continue to bring out key pieces in an extended sizing range. Different sizing requires different cuts, and we want to respect the body shape of our customers by continuing to provide affordable on-trend pieces.
How do you choose what pieces will be brought out in extended sizing?
It’s a combination – some pieces we will bring out in extended sizing from the beginning, other cases it depends on previous sales – of we know an item has been popular at the higher sizing end, we will consider bringing it out in larger sizes. We are really listening to the feedback of our customers and refining our fit.
so what changes have you made in terms of fit for the new collection?
Our customers were telling us that they struggle with the fit of denim. A lot of our ladies are pear and hourglass shape, and hated the dreaded gape at the back of the waistband of their pants. So we’ve listened, and we have developed an adjustable waist system for all our denim, so no matter your shape, you can customize the fit of your own denim to get the right for for you. It’s something we are really proud of, and something that we think our customers will love.
Spring/Summer 2014 Collection
There is a real boho feel to the SS14 collection, with a palate of indigo and cream. Plenty of peasant tops, maxi skirts and paisley prints, it’s going to be an interesting collection, but a beautiful chic take on a boho summer.
What did I love?
For me, one of the most exciting developments is the new adjustable waist feature in their denim, and this feature will be rolled out to all their denim in the new collection. I am loving the cut of these boyfriend style jeans, and the tone of this nude top is beautiful against the shape of denim. I would wear this combo in a second. Paired with flats for a busy Saturday, or with heels and glam gold earrings for a night out.
Boho is not generally my style, but I did really like this lace details on this cream peasant top, and I love it paired with the indigo scarf – the cornerstone palette for the SS14 collection.
So, that’s the SS14 sneak peek – are you digging the Boho vibe? What do you think about the adjustable waist feature?
