So after posting up the Spring Summer Collection previews for Katies, Crossroads and Autograph, a little birdie told me that they have a joint factory outlet store in Alexandria, Sydney. So I popped down there quick smart to check out the bargains and see if it was worth the trip.
Everyone knows that I’m a massive fan of the City Chic factory outlet in Campbeltown and I’ve done a couple of posts before showing what’s available.
The bargains at the Katies/Crossroads/Autograph outlet store blew me away. They had a range of bargains – starting at $5. The most ‘expensive’ stuff was 30% off the tag price. Each brand has a rough section of the shop and slightly different bargains to be had…
I found the fewest bargain basement bargains at Autograph, which is dissapointing because their old factory outlet in Capmbeltown used to be full of incredible bargains. I remember getting a suit jacket for just $10 once. I’d say most of their stock was between $20 – $40 for the heavily discounted racks, and 30% off everything else. There were a few small bargain racks – $5 and $10 but nothing really caught my eye.
There was a good mix of sizing available which was great – it’s not just the tiny sizing left on the shelves. They had a rack of clothes with ‘prices as marked’ with bargains like a $80 dress down to $30 – it was a shift dress in beautiful blues but I resisted! I picked up some soft patterned monochrome pants – I figure they will come on very handy one the baby is born, and they were just $10!
The Crossroads collection was heavily discounted, with an entire wall of stock for $10. They had some pretty recent pieces there too – like their fuzzy jumpers. The newer stuff was between $10-20, with a very few pieces around the $30 mark. I picked up armfuls of bargains!
The checkout system is a little strange – you line up with all your goodies and then have to separate and pay for each of the brands at a different register at the front. Strange, but not unmanageable – but it does mean three transactions on your card if you purchase from each brand.
Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit. Crossroads had the most recent stock and cheapest stock, but their price point is lower to begin with – Katies definitely had selected pieces that were a steal, but their more recent stuff was just a discount. Autograph’s pricing starts a little higher than the other brands, and I felt like the sale stock wasn’t as recent. But still – absolutely worth checking out! And a short stroll away is the TS 14+ and Virtu Factory Outlet, and Cotton On is just next door – so since your in the neighborhood, it would be rude of you not to check them out too 😉
