Well since my pregnancy is out in the open, I thought there would be no better time to embrace my bump in body con.
I have a terrible habit of falling in love with beautiful dresses, buying them, and having them hang waiting in the back of my closet for the perfect opportunity… Hell, any opportunity will do! But on this particular occasion, it did happen to be the perfect event!
A little while ago I was thrilled to find out that I had been nominated for the Voices of 2014 Kidspot awards. On Saturday, I got to attend an inspiring master class run by Kidspot for all the nominees, followed a fabulous cocktail reception!
From the thousands of nominees, I was absolutely shocked and humbled to find out that a panel of judges had included me in the Top 40 Beauty and Lifestyle blogs in Australia! Geez, I was glad I was wearing this dress!
So, more about this dress – obviously, due to my baby bump, I went without spanx for the evening, a first for me when it comes to wearing a Bodycon dress out in public. I’m very happy, and slightly embarrassed to admit that there were no shocked looks of gasps at my unspanx-ed thighs – kinda makes me wonder why I bothered all those other times!
I love that this dress is pretty much foolproof. The colours are bang on trend and perfect for Autumn. No big accessories required as the neckline takes care of that already. The mesh on the shoulders adds a sexy detail, something I echoed with my strappy mesh Dorothy Perkins shoes – and the coloured illusion contour lines of the dress are especially flattering (from front on anyway!).
I had a FABULOUS night, catching up with so many bloggers that I had connected with online.
Fellow Aussie Curves babe Melissa from Suger Coat It and I are doing the Aussie Curves girls proud as the only plus size fashion bloggers to be included in the Top 40. I honestly can’t believe that I have been included in my first year of blogging amongst so many fabulous blogs. A big congratulations to my beautiful friend and Aussie Curves founder, Danielle from Danimezza, who was inducted to the Hall of Fame this year.
Dani was nice enough to snap some outfit pics for me in the hallway of our hotel before we left for the event. It was an epic weekend for Dani and I who packed a crazy amount of fabulous into one weekend with Indigenous Fashion Week runway and blogger drinks on Friday night, the Masterclass and Cocktail Reception on Saturday, and a trip out to the City Chic factory outlet in Campbeltown on Sunday – Dani has put together an awesome Changeroom video of the Aussie Curves girls shopping up a storm – check it out here.
After a weekend like that, no wonder I’m exhausted! So, that’s me done for Body Con week – I look forward to seeing the other beautiful Aussie Curves girls embrace their curves in hot dresses! Don’t forget to check them out in the Blog Hop below.
